The Monroe County Community School Corporation (MCCSC) offers the following
programs that provide care for school-age children.
Extended Day Program
The goal of the extended day program is to provide safe, affordable, high quality part-time or
full-time care to MCCSC children who require care during the hours before and after school.
Children participate in recreation and games, arts and crafts, and special events. Free choice time
and tutoring are also available. Care is provided by trained staff.
The extended day program is offered in all elementary schools.
The extended day program is open on all days that MCCSC is in session. Before school care is
offered beginning at 6:45 am. After school care is provided until 6:00 pm. The Extended day
program also offers an activity program on half-days and on those days that the schools are delayed or closed for severe weather. Children not normally participating in the Extended Day program can be enrolled by calling the Extended Day office at 330-7702.
K-Club
K-Club offers care for kindergarten children when they are not in class. K-Club is available at all
elementary schools except Binford. K-Club is a program where learning is fun. Activities will
compliment the work that children are doing in their kindergarten classroom. The structure and
presentation will be different so children can experience education and leisure time for a full day.
K-Club children are supervised by trained staff throughout the day, at lunch and on the playground.
K-Club has two sessions from 9:00 am to 12:45 pm and from 11:30 am to 3:15 pm. K-Club
enrollment is a full time commitment and is limited to first-come, first-served. Limited financial
assistance is available. For fee information, contact the Extended Day office at 330-7702.
Adventure Camp
Adventure camp offers care during the summer months for children entering kindergarten through
seventh grade. It is designed to provide summer care for families trying to balance the demands of
work and family responsibilities and offers children the opportunity to expand the mind and exercise
the body with an experience full of activities, friends and fun! Children are introduced to weekly
themes highlighted by field trips, recreation, crafts, special guests, and free choice time.
Adventure Camp staff are trained , creative and enthusiastic. We maintain a 1:9 counselor to
camper ratio during camp hours. Families may enroll for one week or for up to all eight weeks. For
fee information, call the Extended Day office at 330-7702. There are special fees for children
attending summer school. Limited financial assistance is available.
Adventure camp is located in Monroe County elementary schools.
Enrollment
Enrollment for all MCCSC programs takes place only in the Extended Day office, not in the
elementary schools themselves. A limited amount of child care assistance is available for all
programs. Please contact the Extended Day office at 330-7702 for more details.
